STA caught up with Marjorie kay as she prepares for her first book launch at the gorgeous, refurbished Balmoral Hall tomorrow, Saturday 24 April.
Marjorie has written and illustrated a book called I Know a Safe Place inspired by her own experiences of the 2019-2020 bushfires that almost wiped out the small town of Balmoral. Marjorie’s book was inspired by the animals impacted by the bushfires.
While the story has a tragic backdrop marjorie sharing what it was like to stay and protect the animals on her property. The story focuses around the animals and how they coped with the fire, how and where they escaped. While it has a tragic back ground the story is ultimately a story of hope.
You can head to the launch on Saturday 24 April between 10am and 2pm at Balmoral Hall Wilson Dr, Balmoral NSW 2571.
If you can’t make the launch you can check out the book (and purchase) on the I Know a Safe Place webpage. Marjorie’s book was proudly supported by the NSW Government in association with Wingecarribee Shire Council.
