Stories from the Studio: Lisa Stevenson STA Artist in Residence at the QBN Hive

We caught up with Lisa Stevenson the STA Artist in Residence at the Queanbeyan Hive. Lisa is a fibre artist who uses locally harvested natural materials to create beautiful woven works of art. 

Lisa is in Residence at the Hive for two week 9-22 January 2023. Earlier this week Lisa was welcomed by Dr Matilda House and Sue Javis with Helen Ferguson at the QBN Hive. 

Lisa is also the first even STA Box Gallery Artist for the brand new STA Box Gallery at the Q Theatre. You can visit the Q and see Lisa work until Mid 2023. Have a look at the exhibition online.

Weaving Circle – Saturday January 21, 10am-12pm

Drop in and weave with Lisa at The QBN Hive. A morning of basket making and stories, using plants gathered from the garden and local area.  We will use native and invasive species, such as honey suckle, and you can bring along plants from home.  Learn how to prepare fibres ready for weaving, the types of plants that are suitable, and how to sustainably forage for them.  Drop in and stay for all or part of the workshop. Everyone welcome. Kids to be accompanied. No Bookings just drop in and weave.
