QRPC Diwali Mela Lantern Festival

Saturday 18 November 2023 on Queanbeyan River

STA are proud partners with Queanbeyan Palerang Regional Council and the Queanbeyan Multicultural Centre for the inaugural Diwali Mela Lantern Festival. A night that will transform the QEII Park on Queanbeyan River into a magical world of culture, performance, light and colour. We invite the whole community to join in and  celebrate Diwali Mela, the Festival of Light at this FREE community event. 

Be part of the Lantern Parade

  • Before the event – Register to be apart of the Diwali Lantern Parade. Link coming soon.
  • 6pm onwards – Check in at the QRPC Info tent in QEII Park. Get your wrist band and light for your lantern (limited stocks available on a first in basis).
  • 8pm – Meet at the parade marshalling area at the end of Trinculo Place (in front of the Queanbeyan Art Society)
  • 8.30pm the lantern parade will begin it’s journey around the riverwalk finishing up at QEII park at around 9pm.

Remember to wear comfy shoes and bring a lantern to be part of the parade. Battery lights only – please no naked flames or candles in lanterns.
