This week STA visited Judith’s home and studio in Goulburn, where her world of art comes alive in every corner. Judith’s house is an eclectic mix of her own creations alongside unique items she has collected over the years. As an artist, Judith works with a wide range of materials—fiber, metal, wood, carving, and painting—allowing her to explore different artistic expressions.

Judith has been deeply influenced by themes of death and other worlds, particularly the sacrifice of Inca children in 500 AD. This inspired her to create pieces that commemorate the lives lost and examine the transcendent nature of sacrifice. Among these works are her playful pull-toys, which feature Inca motifs and patterns. These interactive artworks add a layer of whimsy while continuing to reflect on the deeper themes of death and remembrance that have shaped her work for years.
