We catch up with the Bass Clef Duo, on double bass Isabella Brown and Cellist Liam Meany. They are preforming in an online concert as part of the Sydney Sacred Music Festival this Saturday. 

2020 has been a tough year for all casual musicians. Throughout the year we have had cancelled contracts due to COVID19 with arts organisations such as Canberra Symphony Orchestra, Opera Australia, Orchestra Victoria, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and The Auckland Philharmonia. The silver lining is that we’ve had the time to work and grow as a duet. When you live together and are no longer travelling for work it’s easy to find the time to make arrangements of your favorite pieces. There have also been many online performance occasions that we have been lucky enough to be part of such as the Homegrown Concert part of the Hume Conservatorium as well as the upcoming Sacred Music Festival. We have also had time to take on more students and have really enjoyed our time working at the Hume Con. Hopefully we’ll be back on stage with our favorite orchestras soon but for now we are very happy to be performing duets together.
