A few hours ago, STA took a tour of the Blue Square Art Exhibition with Stephen Lowe from Artheart at Bowral Art Gallery. Stephen has been working with the exhibition for 3 years and is also one of the over 200 artists on display. In its fourth year, the exhibition is the largest ever with 254 artworks exhibited in spectacular salon hangs across the gallery walls. The format of the exhibition is a 40cm x 40cm square containing a blue theme.
Sonja Millis, the organiser of the Blue Square Exhibition was inspired to begin this competition as a tribute to the legacy of Bob Millis, who was an artist and art teacher who left us in 2017. Both Sonja and Bob have always felt a calling to provide a safe space to nurture and encourage people to participate in fine art.
The event supports Can Assist Southern Highlands as a fundraiser for its vital work in supporting local Highlands residents with cancer during their treatment cycle.
Don’t miss seeing this amazing exhibition this weekend at Bowral Art Gallery. There are drinks tonight at the gallery with Sonja Millis and Winner of the competition Yvonne Studdert.
On Saturday there will be a performance of What the Light Tells – Poetry, Music, Art with Mark Tredinnick OAM.
