Libby Wakefield: Stories from the Studio

This week we take you to visit Libby Wakefield at her studio where she is preparing for an upcoming solo exhibition. Libby was a recipient of an STA Micro Grant in 2021 and we are proud to have been able to support her to create and exhibit new work.

The body of work for the upcoming exhibition reflects the Wingecaribee wetlands. These paintings borrow the visual language of passed notions of beauty and the sublime. The work explores the unique character of the rivers, creeks and swamps around the Wingecaribee area.

‘The Poetry of Nature’ opens at Whitewall Art Project Gallery on Saturday 23 April with an opening from 4-6pm. The exhibition continues until 2 May. Please visit Whitewall Art Projects website for further details.

Libby is a practicing highlands artist represented by WhiteWall Art Projects in Berrima, she holds a Bachelor Degree in Arts Education and has 20 years of  teaching experience.
