Stories from the Studio: Meg Perry-Carter Textiles at Dalton Hall

A real treat this week as we take you along for a visit to Dalton Hall in Upper Lachlan to meet with Julie Perryman. Julie is curating a show of stunning textile artworks by Meg Perry-Carter, the work will be showcased in the upcoming Textile Art Exhibition – Wall Hangings by Meg Perry-Carter at Dalton Hall.

Before her death in 2024, Dalton resident Meg Perry-Carter was a prolific artist who explored various media, including drawing, painting, woodcraft, and pyrography. Yet, it is her textile works that stand out—intricately crafted pieces that intertwine artistic mastery with rich mythological storytelling.

We highly recommend a trip to Dalton to see these works in person. The artisan level quality construction and artistic vision is simply breathtaking. Meg had a rare gift, a profound connection to storytelling through fabric.
