PAINT THE TOWN Street Art Festival – Wingecaribee
@stapaintthetown for all the updates

A wild Autumn of fun when we created murals across the Southern Highlands with 11 amazing murals created as part of the festival and 2 still to come.
International super star Fintan totally floored us with his spooky art powers. Sam Hall brought a new lease of life to Hill Top where he became the centre of town excitement for two weeks. Snarl & Joe couldn’t believe their luck being paid to paint a train. Warwick, Jodie and Shanti totally brought the style. Sophi painted a larger than life tractor and Zoe from Muralisto made tulips bloom in Bowral.
We really kicked it up a gear with the PTT Laneway party in the middle of the festival. A day of live music and creative workshops with two murals painted live on sight. Yep we were tired but happy after that. Thanks to Sergei for making it happen.

Get your crew together, hop in the car, put on your skates or jump on the horse and discover street art across our wonderful region on the STA PAINT THE TOWN Street Art Tour

Use our PTT goggle map to get to all the murals and be awed by the art

Fintan McGee – @fintan_magee
At the side of Inspiration Paints in Bowral.
Fintan is social realist painter, specializing in large-scale murals. He started drawing at a young age. One of Australia’s leading street artists his paintings are found all over the world.
Drawing from personal experience and the mundane, his figurative paintings are deeply integrated with the urban environment and explore themes of diversity, migration and transition, waste and consumption, loss, and the environment. His works exude an inherent sentimentality and softness influenced by children’s books and the Low Brow art movement.

You can find out more and get involved here.

Every PAINT THE TOWN Street Art Festival includes murals created for fire affected community members.

A huge thank you goes out to Karen who got a fab mural from SNARL. Karen lost her home as the fire sweep through her Bundanoon property. The family are currently living temporary accommodation as they rebuild.
Thanks so much for our wonderful murals, they fill our hearts with joy. Karen

PTT murals are co-designed by the community to reflect our experiences of the Black Summer fires.

You’ll notice lots of people, animals and blooming nature in our PTT murals which were inspired by community stories of the Black Summer Fires captured at co-design workshops held with fire effected community members. Facilitated by Carol and Amanda from The Stress & Trauma Clinic. Stories from the workshops formed the artists’ briefs for the PTT festival.
