Vale: Paul Paviour OAM
Our region is saddened by the news that Paul Paviour OAM FRCO (born 1931), passed away on Friday 24 May. Paul leaves a legacy of music that has spread across the globe from his home in Goulburn.

Paul was an internationally acknowledged musician, composer, conductor and educator.

He made a significant contribution to music having adapted at least 471 works in 639 publications. He is well known locally as the founding Director of Goulburn Regional Conservatorium.

STA was honoured to have worked with Paul on a number of projects and programs over the years. Tweo of our favourites were pop-up piano concert in a café in Queanbeyan and a concert with his Occasional Choir for the Cultural X Festival, filmed at the Hume Conservatorium.

You can find out more about Paul’s extraordinary life of achievement at his Wikipedia page.

We would like to honour Paul’s memory by sharing the footage from the pop-up café concert with you all today.

The service for Dr. Paul Paviour will take place on Friday June 7 at 11am. It will be held at St. Saviour’s Cathedral. As requested by Paul himself a choir will sing. This will be a choir from all those who would like to sing. His service was put together by himself.

Paul will be greatly missed.

Paul performed with his choir for Pope John Paul II.
