Stories from the Studio: Penny Kerr

It was great to visit Penny Kerr at her home studio in Yass Valley. Penny creates beautiful sculptures from woven willow sourced from her property in Bowning (Yass Valley).

Penny is one of five artists from VASY or the Visual Arts Society of Yass who will host an exhibition of recent work at Connect@GunningStation over April. The program includes a very special opportunity to join a free creative workshop with Penny to create a woven sculpture. Details below.

Penny is a self-taught willow artisan inspired by the English art of willow sculpture. She creates mostly animals and botanic shapes that engage with the landscape of Yass Valley.

Penny has exhibited with the Visual Arts Society of Yass and has run several well-attended willow sculpting workshops.
