Leadership change at STA

A new era has started at STA with a new look Board following our recent AGM at the beautiful Crisp Galleries in Bowning (Yass Valley).
After seven years of dedicated service Susan Brindle has passed the baton to Louise Wakefield who steps into the Presidential role after four years as the Board Secertary. New Vice President Mark Bradbury steps into the role from former VP Rob Moran who will continue to serve as a Board member.
Joanne Macauley retains her role as Treasurer and Cecila McKenize has taken on the role of Secretary and Public Officer. Robyn Skyes and Cath Brenan were both re-elected for a second year.
We are also excited to welcome new Board members Mandy MacDonald (Upper Lachlan), Patrick Nellestein (Wollondilly) and Garth Prentice (Goulburn Mulwaree).
Thank you to Michelle Storey (Yass Valley) who steps away from the board this year with our thanks for her contribution over the last four years.
The volunteers who serve on the STA Board bring with them a wealth of skills and expertise. Without their dedicated service STA simply would not be able to achieve what we do across our region.
2023 was our biggest year ever with multiple projects and a record investment in our local creative sector and cultural communities. As detailed in our 2023 Annual Report. This includes Susan’s Valedictory President’s Report, a humbling look back as what’s been achieved.
On a personal note, I want to acknowledge Susan as she leaves the Board. It’s been an absolute privilege to work with her over the years as she has led our small arts organisation through complex developments and amazing achievements. What an honour it has been to get to know Susan, she is an exceptional human being and I look forward to interacting with her in different capacities in the future.
