This tour of the sculptures and features to be found in the garden of Sturt Gallery and Studio has been created by Southern Tablelands Arts in celebration of Sturt’s 80th anniversary and the extraordinary impact and achievements of Australia’s oldest design centre and cherished home of makers.

In the lead up to their 80th anniversary in 2021 Sturt shared this memory from the Sturt archives. In the 60’s Gerald Lewer’s bird bath sculpture and John Moore’s pergola were new and Winifred West’s gardens were taking shape. This creative enclave in the Southern Highlands of NSW has continued to be an inspiring place of pilgrimage for talented makers and appreciators of art and craft.
